We believe that, by becoming the hands and feet of Jesus, we have the chance to help spread the Good News of God’s love to all those around us. Our Outreach Ministry (Missions and Evangelism) joyfully shares the good news of Jesus Christ through discipleship, faith development, and service to those in need.

Missions Calendar of Events
Volunteer at Angels’ Attic
Angels' Attic is a volunteer-run White's Chapel ministry supporting local and global charities through the sale of donated merchandise. Angels’ Attic Upscale Resale, located at 1250 William D. Tate Ave., Suite 350, in Grapevine Towne Center, is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Men and women are needed as volunteers to sort donations and ready them for display, test electronics, pick up and deliver furniture, research prices, repair furniture, display and stage merchandise, and greet and wait on customers. Volunteers may work regular weekly 2 hour shifts or substitute as needed. Volunteer opportunities can be tailored to fit your schedule. Contact Angels' Attic to schedule volunteer hours, call them at 817-251-9451 or simply show up when you have the time.

Campus Missions
Angel Tree Forest

A long-standing tradition at White’s Chapel, the Angel Tree Forest will continue this year!  Instead of just one ‘angel tree’ the church has created a whole forest that represents multiple individuals in need during the holiday season.  The trees will be available in the concourse, art gallery, commons and the WC Kids’ area.  An online opportunity will also be available with virtual trees.  Drop by to admire the beautiful Christmas trees and take a tag to support the cause of your choice.
Filling the Gap (Weekend Food Assistance)

Help us fill grocery sacks for students at our Adopt-a-Schools that are at risk for hunger over the weekends during the school year.  Teams of volunteers are needed to help in many ways:
  • Tuesdays – meet at White’s Chapel in the main concourse to help pack the grocery sacks… assembly line style.
  • Fridays – meet one Friday a month at the Adopt-a-School to load the grocery sacks into backpacks for the students to take home so that they have some food to eat over the weekend. Volunteers will have to complete a background check.  
  • Transporters – during the week, help deliver the tubs filled with grocery sacks to the schools.
  • Shoppers – shop for the food used to fill the grocery sacks.
Soldier Ministry

As a part of its many mission and ministry programs, White’s Chapel has a Soldier Ministry that has been in operation for more than 20 years.  Initially created to support soldiers from White’s Chapel, the program has expanded to reach thousands of soldiers across the globe by sending care packages filled with handmade cards from WC Kids and adults, letters, Bibles, toiletries and food (among many other things).  The packages raise morale and let each soldier know that they are not forgotten!  People can help by donating items or helping pack boxes.  Donated items can be placed in the donation box by Wesley Café.  Contact Susan Tanner with any questions or to help.  Download the Soldier Supply List.
Super Saturdays of Service

As faithful followers of Jesus, we are instructed to put the needs of others before our own.  White’s Chapel is constantly looking for ways to serve others here in our own community as well as our nation and world.  Throughout the year, we offer multiple Super Saturdays of Service.  These events are monthly opportunities to come together as a community to serve the needs of others. We encourage friends, families (including children) and all church groups to participate.

Adopt-a-Schools

White’s Chapel has adopted three elementary schools where we participate in tutoring, providing weekend grocery sacks for kids with food insecurity, providing school supplies for kids and classrooms, creating teacher appreciation events, helping with Christmas and food assistance for families in need, and supporting other needs that might arise for students and the schools during the year. Our partner schools are O.H. Stowe Elementary in Haltom City and Van Zandt-Guinn Elementary in Fort Worth, and Bellaire Elementary in Hurst. There are many volunteer opportunities on a weekly or as-needed basis throughout the school year.
Agape Meal
Third Thursday of each month | 4:15-7:45 p.m. | Broadway Baptist Church
Be the hands and feet of Jesus as White’s Chapel volunteers (ages six and up) serve a meal to the homeless on the third Thursday of each month at Broadway Baptist Church in Fort Worth. Volunteers gather at the concourse Welcome doors at 4:15 p.m. to ride the church bus or meet the group at Broadway at 5:30 p.m. We will return to White’s Chapel by 7:45 p.m. Registration is required. Community Awareness Outreach
Community Awareness Outreach with the Poiema Foundation
One Saturday A Month | 9 a.m. | Meet at Concourse Welcome Doors
Each month outreach teams of trained volunteers distribute posters of vulnerable, missing minors to strategic business locations throughout our local area to bring awareness of missing children. Businesses are encouraged to call the tip line on the poster if they see one of the missing youth. Each team consists of an experienced team leader, a driver, a data collector, and a prayer warrior. A one-time training is needed before participating in an outreach event. Cooking with Care

Second, Third and Fourth Monday of each month | 9:20 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Ronald McDonald House in Fort Worth
Each month, men and women join in preparing and serving lunch to the parents, siblings, and family members staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Fort Worth. Ronald McDonald House provides housing for parents with critically-ill children at Cook Children’s Medical Center. Meals are served three times a month on the second, third and fourth Monday. Volunteers must bring a valid driver’s license. Volunteers meet at 9:20 a.m. and carpool together, returning at 2 p.m.
Dirty Dozen + YOU

No longer just a dozen! Volunteers learn and perfect skills in construction, plumbing, electrical, painting, flooring…almost everything dealing with remodeling and construction. Projects vary from emergency relief, to helping with housing and church buildings. Opportunities are on an as-needed basis and there is schedule flexibility during each project. Projects continue throughout the entire year and can be as simple as delivering items to shelters, schools and other places where supplies are provided by the church.

Volunteers go through extensive training on how to assist in the event of a natural, or man-made disaster. Teams are called to serve on an as-needed basis. Teams travel to affected areas, and typically serve three to four days at a time.
Food Share Connection

White’s Chapel provides 150-200 fully cooked meals each week to the homeless in Fort Worth through our partner agency, Community Food Bank. Wednesday night dinner meals are prepared and cooked by the WC kitchen staff. The meals are then stored in our walk-in refrigerators overnight. Volunteers are needed to pick up and deliver the meals on Thursday morning to Community Food Bank in Fort Worth.

GRACE/Feed Our Kids

For three weeks in June/July, volunteers provide lunches at their expense for children at the Grace Food Pantry, Monday through Friday.
Home with a Heart

In partnership with GRACE’s transitional housing program, opportunities are available for men and women who love to remodel, restore, refurnish, and redecorate. Apartment/housing units are remodeled for families, women, and children transitioning from homelessness to more permanent housing. Volunteers are needed to renovate, decorate, and furnish the home unit with everything that is needed for a new beginning. Opportunities are on an as-needed basis and there is schedule flexibility during the project. Projects continue throughout the year.

This exceptional group of volunteers serves in many different ways. From running an errand for a person in need, helping organize a closet, decorating, gardening, administrative skills, writing letters - this group makes it easy to give back! Volunteers interested in assisting this group will receive emails as opportunities arise.
WC Mobile Market
Grapevine Community Outreach Center (with GRACE)

We are partnering with Tarrant Area Food Bank to provide groceries to families in need throughout our community.  On the second Thursday of each month from 4:45-7 p.m., we partner with GRACE at Grapevine Community Outreach Center (3010 Mustang Drive, Grapevine) to provide a shopping experience known as "client choice" with volunteers assisting clients as they select from the groceries available.  For more information or questions, please contact WC Mobile Market volunteer coordinator, Jared Smith.
Patriot House Monthly Birthday Celebration
Last Thursday of the Month │ 4 – 7:30 p.m. | Patriot House in Fort Worth
Help us make birthdays special for homeless veterans who live at the Patriot House, a transitional housing facility offered through the Presbyterian Night Shelter system in Fort Worth. The monthly celebration offers a time to interact and converse with veterans who are in transition. Adult volunteers can meet at the church to ride the bus or drive separately and park in the gated lot behind Patriot House. The bus will return to the church around 7:30 p.m. Registration is required.

Serving Dinner With Love
Third Saturday of the Month | 4:15 to 7 p.m.
The Presbyterian Night Shelter (Morris Foundation) in Fort Worth provides immediate shelter to families in need and helps them find a place to call home.
Each month, volunteers may meet at White’s Chapel at 4:15 p.m. to ride the church bus or meet the group at the shelter at 5 p.m. Parking spots are provided in a gated lot.
At the shelter, volunteers will serve dinner while providing love, encouragement, and fellowship. This is a family-friendly opportunity. Children must be at least 12 years old and accompanied by a parent to participate.

Trinity Habitat for Humanity – Build a Home Project
10 Build Dates Beginning Oct. 4 - 26 | 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
White's Chapel is working with Trinity Habitat for Humanity to fund and build a home. The church needs at least 20 volunteers for each of the ten build dates, beginning Friday, Oct. 4 and ending Saturday, Oct. 26. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old; youth under 18 may not operate power tools. 

Trinity Habitat for Humanity is a Christian ministry that partners with people in local communities to help them build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With the church’s support (through sponsorship and volunteers), Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and for their families.

Volunteers will work, often alongside the home partner, under the direction of training Habitat construction leaders on the home exterior. Work may include raising the walls, installing tornado fortifications, installing windows, and putting up siding. No prior experience is required. The workday is 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., but volunteers should plan to arrive by 7:45 a.m. for a few words and prayer. Safety is the number one goal, so the workday will start with a safety lesson given by the Cornerstone project manager. 
 
Registration is required.  Early registration is preferred to aid in construction scheduling. If individual participants are signing up more volunteers, select the number of slots (reservations) needed and include the additional names in the comments field. After completing the registration, volunteers will receive an email with the home address, what to bring and wear, and a Trinity Habitat liability waiver to bring on the day of the event.

Arkansas Adult 2024 Mission Trip
Aug. 29 - Sept. 2 | $350 Per Person
Ferncliff Camp in Little Rock, AR
Join us on our second adult mission trip to Ferncliff in Little Rock, Arkansas where you will have the opportunity to work alongside 15 volunteers to complete meaningful and much-needed work for the community.
 
Ferncliff is a nonprofit camp and conference center founded in 1937 to provide a place for youth and adults to gather and experience creation in community with one another. While founded as a Christian summer camp, they have expanded over the years to include a nature preschool, and they have become a Good360 Community Distribution Center, as well as home to their own 10,000 square foot Disaster Assistance Center, “The DAC."
 
The group of volunteers will travel to Ferncliff on the WC bus on the afternoon of Thursday, Aug. 29, returning the morning of Monday, Sept. 2. Lodging will be on site and provided through Ferncliff in their Brown Center hotel-style rooms. Each room includes two full-sized beds as well as a private bathroom. All meals will be provided through the camp. The trip will consist of three work days, the Aug. 30 – Sept. 1 (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), with a large variety of work that spans across all skill levels and abilities. Work at Ferncliff includes construction, maintenance, and landscaping around the camp as well as work inside the DAC preparing emergency and hygiene kits that are shipped around the country to areas in need. In addition to work at the camp, there is the possibility of home repair work off campus at local homes in Little Rock.
 
The total trip cost of $350 includes all transportation, lodging, meals, and materials for the weekend.

WC Men's 2024 Mission Trip
October 16/17-20 | San Antonio
WC Men are returning to Blueprint Ministries in San Antonio this fall (Oct. 16/17-20) to share the love of Jesus Christ. All men, 18 and older, are welcome on this trip. We also welcome male high school seniors who want to serve alongside their father! No experience is necessary, just a willing heart. This is a terrific opportunity to serve Christ and meet other men from the church. The three-day cost is $285, and the two-day cost is $245. Registration is required to participate. Costa Rica Adult Mission Trip - TBA FEBRUARY 2025
Roblealto Bible Home, San Jose, Costa Rica
Here's your chance to "Be the Church" and help work for the children of the Roblealto Bible Home in Costa Rica. Roblealto's mission is to care for the children of Costa Rica who are in critical situations, at social risk or in need of specialized care. The Bible Home provides these children with a safe home they share with 10 other children and house parents. There are 10 homes and a school on site. Our mission is to provide whatever the Roblealto family needs. Participants will have a work group each week and, over the weekend, everyone will have a day with the children, plus a chance to experience Costa Rica. WC Women’s Mission Trip - TBA FEBRUARY 2025
Join WC Women for our Spring mission trip, typically rotating every year between a domestic trip and an international trip.  All women 18 and older are welcome on this trip. Kenya Adult Mission Trip - TBA JUNE 2026
Trinity Methodist Ministries, Kenya, Africa
Join us every other year on our mission trip to Kenya where we'll visit, work and learn about the ministries of the Trinity Methodist church in Gilgil, Kenya.  We take two teams with approximately 15 people on each team.  The Trinity Methodist Church is a district of 18 churches around the area of Gilgil.  They have a Safe House for women in need, a full-time Medical Clinic, 3 high schools and are about to open a primary school.  We help wherever we are needed: painting, construction, helping with medical ministry and playing with the children.  For questions or more information, contact Ken and Sharon Nelson.

God is Big Enough
Over 7,900,000,000.
It’s a huge number, to be sure, for it represents the total population of the earth.  Beyond that, though, it represents hopes and dreams. It represents fears and struggles. It represents the hearts and souls of men, and women and children on this small clod of dirt that’s twirling on the far side of the galaxy.
Now, we know from our own personal experience that each of us is unique – that’s nearly eight billion expressions of faith, nearly eight billion hungering and thirsty lives. We know that each one of those nearly eight billion people have something different lingering on their minds, something weighing them down. We know that nearly eight billion lives need nearly eight billion different things. But we also know that at the center of each of those needs is the deepest desire, the deepest yearning of the soul: God.

When we stop and survey the enormity of all of this, we’re overwhelmed. We’re amazed, and we’re struck by the biblical promise that God knows each of our names, that God knows the plans He has for us, that God can care (and that God would even want to care) for the nearly eight billion of us who consistently struggle to live up to his command to love each other…but we are convinced that GOD IS BIG ENOUGH – that God is big enough to care for us, that God is big enough to love us, that God is big enough to know us, that God is big enough to save us!

It is our hope that these bracelets we wear will open up doors of conversation about our faith, about our Savior and about our church; we hope to share the grace and love of God in such compelling ways that it might meet that deep pining of all our souls. We hope that whatever portion of the nearly eight billion people of earth that we come into contact with will sense God in our stories and in our lives. More than that, though, we pray that this would be a statement that is read not just on our bracelets or from our t-shirts, but that it becomes a message that is spoken from our Christ-consumed hearts, a message proclaimed more by what we do than by what we wear.
To date, WC has distributed over 600,000 bracelets in English, Akan (Ghana), Chinese, German, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
